Beijing Day Two

Today Dylan and I set off for a tour of the temples of Beijing. It was cold, Yahoo said it felt like 14 degrees farenheit. We toured the Temple of Heaven, saw Tai Chi in the park and explored the vastness of the Forbidden City. My legs are still frozen. Here's my favorite shot of the day:
Tonight we are off to have New Year Eve celebrations and the classic Peking Duck.

Day One in Beijing

Hi everyone,

Dylan and I successfully made it through our 13 hour flight to Beijing and set out on our adventures in the Capital City. Beijing was not initially what we expected, first of all everyone has nice cars, from new VW's to Audi's, they were all blowing past us on the brand new highway into the city. Buildings are being raised in high frequency, but Beijingers have made most of these new highrises architecturally significant. The streets are amazingly clean, no gum, no trash and the main thoroughfare Chang' An Avenue looks like a cross between the Champs Elysee in Paris and the Strip in Las Vegas.

We decided to head for the night street fair for some dinner, here's a photo...
This fair was far cleaner than any market I've seen in the US. We are off to the Forbidden City tomorrow...
